Terms of Service

Last updated 9 October 2026

These terms explain how SlotBrowser works and what you agree to when you use it. Please read them before you start.

1. Who we are

SlotBrowser is operated by SlotBrowser Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom (company number [COMPANY NUMBER], registered office [REGISTERED OFFICE ADDRESS]). In these terms, "we", "us" and "SlotBrowser" mean SlotBrowser Ltd, and "you" means the person using the service.

You can contact us at [email protected] or through our contact page.

SlotBrowser is an independent service. We are not part of, and are not affiliated with or endorsed by, the DVSA or any government agency.

2. What SlotBrowser does

SlotBrowser helps you find a slot for your UK practical driving test. When you launch a browser, we:

  • run a browser session for you on our servers, using the test centres and dates you choose;
  • automatically search the driving test booking service for matching slots, and deal with the checks and errors the booking service shows along the way;
  • enter details you have given us, such as your driving licence number, when the booking service asks for them;
  • stop when a slot is available and alert you by SMS, phone call, email and push notification.

You complete the booking yourself. You open your session, check the details, enter anything else the booking service asks for and confirm the booking. We never book a test on your behalf, and a held slot is only available for a short time, so you need to act quickly.

3. Your account and your responsibilities

  • You must be a learner driver who is old enough to take the practical test, and you must use SlotBrowser only for your own test.
  • It is against the law to book a car driving test for someone else, so you must not use SlotBrowser to book for another person.
  • You must give accurate information and keep your account details and password secure. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
  • You are responsible for checking that your test centre, date, time and details are correct before you confirm a booking, and for meeting the DVSA's own rules, including its limits on changing a test.
  • You must follow the DVSA's rules about the test itself, such as having a valid theory test pass and the right documents on the day.

4. Wallet, our charges and refunds

  • You fund your SlotBrowser wallet by bank transfer, using the reference we give you. Funds are credited once we have matched your payment.
  • To launch a browser, your available wallet balance must cover our charge for your chosen centres. That amount is reserved while your browser is running.
  • We charge only when a booking is confirmed. The charge is the price for the test centre that was actually booked, which can be lower than the amount reserved. If no booking is made, nothing is charged.
  • Our charge is separate from the official test fee. You pay the test fee to the DVSA when you complete your booking.
  • Unused balance: you can ask us to refund any unused wallet balance at any time by emailing us. We will refund it to the bank account you paid from, normally within 14 days.
  • If the DVSA cancels a booking you made: if the DVSA cancels or removes a booking you completed through SlotBrowser, tell us within 14 days and we will review it and, where the booking was cancelled, refund our charge for that booking.

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer, including any right to cancel and any right to a refund where the service is not as described.

5. Alerts and contact numbers

When a slot is available we alert you by SMS, phone call, email and push notification, using the contact details on your account and any extra numbers you add. By using SlotBrowser you agree to receive these alerts. They are part of the service, not marketing.

Alerts are not guaranteed to arrive or to arrive in time: networks, phones and settings can delay or block them. You should only add another person's phone number if they have agreed to be contacted.

6. No guarantees

We do not promise that a slot will be available, that you will find one in a particular time, or that a held slot will still be there when you open your session. Availability depends on the DVSA and on other learners. We try to run the service reliably but it may be interrupted or change, and we may update or withdraw features.

The DVSA sets the rules for its booking service and can change them, or act on a booking or an account. We cannot control that, and you use SlotBrowser at your own risk.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • resell, transfer or share a slot, or use SlotBrowser to book tests for other people;
  • use the service to harm, overload or interfere with our systems, the booking service or anyone else;
  • give us false information, or use another person's details or account;
  • try to access parts of the service you are not meant to access.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or that we reasonably believe puts the service or other users at risk.

8. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited, and they do not affect your statutory rights.

Subject to that, we are not responsible for losses that result from action taken by the DVSA (including a warning, loss of access, or the cancellation of a booking), for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen, or for lost earnings or other indirect losses. Our total liability to you for any claim connected with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

9. Your personal data

We use your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. That includes the driving licence number you give us, which we use only to run your search and booking session.

10. Ending your use of SlotBrowser

You can stop using SlotBrowser, delete a browser, or ask us to close your account at any time. We will refund any unused wallet balance as set out above. We may suspend or close your account as described in the acceptable use section. Sections that by their nature should continue after your account ends, such as those about liability and data, will continue.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example if the DVSA changes its rules or we change the service. We will post the new version here with a new date, and if the changes matter to you we will tell you by email. If you keep using SlotBrowser after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law and complaints

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live, and you keep any rights you have under your local law.

If you are unhappy with our service, please contact us first at [email protected]. We will try to put things right.
